Grades 4.0 Grading Scale: Unweighted A = 4.0C= 2.0 A- = 3.7 C- = 1.7 B+ = 3.3 D+= 1.3 B = 3.0 D= 1.0 B- = 2.7 D- = 0.7 C = 2.3 E = 0 5.0 Grading Scale: Weighted • A = 5.0 C = 3.0 • A- = 4.7C- = 2.7 • B+ = 4.3D+ = 2.3 • B = 4.0D = 2.0 • B- = 3.7D- = 1.7 • C+ = 3.3 E = 0 ONLY AP (Advanced Placement) courses are weighted. Grades/GradingExample: Credits 1 semester class = .5 credit 2 semester classes = 1 credit * In order to receive credit for a class the grade earned must be a D- or above. GPA (Grade Point Average) The average of a students semester grades, starting with 9th grade year. Goes on your transcript and colleges will look at your GPA when admitting students.
Tips for Academic Success • Develop a schedule of your tasks • Write assignments down & prioritize • Break large tasks into smaller tasks • When preparing for tests, take time to review in advance • Choose a quiet place to study & limit distractions • Check Skyward • Ask for help when needed • Set realistic goals for yourself • Self-Care

Four-Year College • Leads to a bachelor's degree. • Universities and Liberal Arts Colleges • Universities often are: • larger • offer more majors • more degree options • bachelor's/ master's /doctoral degree • Most universities contain several smaller colleges, such as college of liberal arts, engineering or health sciences.
Community College • Two year programs that lead to a certificate or an associate degree. • These include: • community colleges • vocational • technical colleges • career colleges • Associate degrees that prepare you to transfer to a fouryear college to earn a bachelor's degree. • Affordable option with relatively low tuition.
Career/Technical or Apprenticeship • Specialized training • Possible programs: • Culinary Arts -Cosmetology • Firefighter -Electrician • Dental Assistant -Welding • Machinist -IT • Earn certificates or associate degrees
