International Day of Peaceorigins - The International Day of Peace was established in 1981 byresolution 36/67  of the United Nations General Assembly to coincide with its opening session, which was held annually on the third Tuesday of September. - The first Peace Day was observed in September 1982. - In 2001, the General Assembly by unanimous vote adoptedresolution 55/282 , which established 21 September as an annual day of non-violence and cease-fire. - The United Nations invites all nations and people to honour a cessation of hostilities during the Day, and to otherwise commemorate the Day through education and public awareness on issues related to peace.

  5. Whatisrequired for theparticipation? Active and valid Google account (Google Hangoutsapp will be used). Computer withbroadband Internet connection. Video camera with a microphoneconnected to the computer. Local coordinator in contact with the IAPMC moderator. Group of studentsready to participateintheevent. Sequence of events Before June 15, 2013 Request participation Submit a request to participate to the IAPMC through the event sign up page (please use the name of a local coordinator in the sign-up form) Ensure that the coordinator has a Google account and know how to use it. Ensure you have a video camera and microphone that can be attached to a computer with high-speed internet connection and a projector or some kind  of screen to see your hangout partner.

  9. Sequence of events Before June 30, 2013 Identify suitable venue (e.g. classroom, city square etc.) IAPMC will tell participants which city “cluster” they are in. A moderator designated by IAPMC will contact the local coordinator. Send the IAPMC the outline program: who, what, where.

  10. Sequence of events Before August 30, 2013 • Send the IAPMC moderator the email address of theGoogle account that will be used for hangout.

  11. Sequence of events BeforeSeptember 13, 2013 • Local coordinator will have to demonstrate his abilityto connect to a Google Hangout with video and audio

  12. Sequence of events BeforeSeptember 21, 2013 The hangout will begin 1 hour before official start time (T.B.A). The rest of the details will be provided after submitting registration forms.

  13. Whatyoucan do to spreadtheinformationaboutlivestreaming? Write an letter to parter cities of your city, invitingthem to participate. Write and letter to thevariousorganizationsunitingcitiesfromyour country. Make a post on yourcity’ssocial media page (Facebook, Twitter etc.) withtheinformationaboutlivestreaming. Any other form of contactwithwithinterestedparties will be appreciated.

  14. Whatyoucan do to spreadtheinformationaboutlivestreaming? AftertheExecutiveBoard IAPMC will send an e-mail to all of thecity-members of theorganizationsinvitingthem to participateinthelivestreaming. EveryExecutiveBoardmember city must be activeinthismatter and spreadthe idea amongthecitiesintheircountries.
