  1. Continuously Transforming Out with the old, In with the new!

  2. Key Scripture “ Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted To it’s external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the entire renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], So that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable And perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and Acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]. -Romans 12:2

  3. Whatdoes transformation mean to you?

  4. Definition • Noun • A thorough or dramatic change in form or appearance. • A metamorphosis during the life cycle of an animal. • Synonyms • conversion - metamorphosis - change - alteration

  5. The Heart • We must remember that everything starts with the heart! • Ask yourself what type of condition your heart is in. • The heart controls the mind, and the transformation process comes from renewal of the mind. So in order for this to take place, your heart must be renewed also. • You have to take special care of your heart! When you can feel negativity creeping in STOP it. Junk starts building up preventing transformation! • Psalm 51:10-12

  6. Digging Deeper • Transformation is an on-going process! Don’t think it’s something that happens over night. • Ex: silk worm changing into a butterfly [takes much time] • God will use you WHILE he changes you! • Get rid of things that will hinder your transformation!

  7. Out With The Old, In With The New! • Rid yourself of things that hinder! • Sometimes you’ll have more to clean out than what you realized! • Don’t you get caught up in what you’ve been taught or observed! [German dog example] • Don’t be controlled by your past or present! Stop viewing things as your OWN destination. [Don’t build houses where you should be pitching tents]

  8. Cont’d • Change your way of thinking! • [Jesus and the Pharisees] He wanted to introduce them to a new way of thinking, but they tried to hold him back with tradition and old ways. • John 3 starting at 11 • Remember, you can’t sew NEW things on OLD ideas. This is why transformation is important; so you can be free from whatever is holding you back!

  9. Cont’d • When we became a Christian, we were “transformed” into a new being or born again. • [2 Corinthians 5:17] • [Galations2:20] • You have to continuously be transforming more into the image like Christ. • Ephesians 4:23

  10. Cont’d • You can’t serve God without transforming ! • Romans 12:1 • Jesus Christ didn’t die so that you could stay spiritually dead! • John 3:16 • It is important to constantly be transformed because un believers need to see a change in you so that they know you’re living the kind of life that you talk about to them. • Matthew 5:13-16 • 2 Timothy 2:15

  11. The Ultimate Goal • Our ultimate goal is to be as close to Christ as possible. Everything about our lives should be like Jesus! This can only happen over time. Day by day we should make some sort of change in our lives that adds to our continuous transformation! • Colossians 3:16-17

  12. Until Next Time… • “For those who live according to the flesh have their outlook shaped by the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit have their outlook shaped by the things of the Spirit.” –Romans 8:5
