  3. Background to the National Framework • Skills for Health have secured commissioned to develop a UK Framework • Four regions have already developed Frameworks • SPfH Stakeholder Group supports our work

  4. The North West and National Framework • SfH part of Programme Delivery Structure • We fully support the work that is being launched in NW • NW are key part of Expert Reference Group for National work • We see the interface as between NW and National as evolutionary

  5. What’s the added value? • Upscale benefits such as: • Reduced duplication • Verifies local work • Frees up capacity • UK wide approach and consistency • Aim to work with National organisations • CQC and NHSLA • HSE, National Back Exchange etc… • Use of experience, resources and contacts – NOS, QCF units

  6. What’s involved • Establishment of an Expert Reference Group • Consultation to test concept and content of National Framework • Use of existing frameworks to establish first draft • Stakeholder engagement • Gain UK representation • Gather support from key national bodies • Testing of content with national bodies • Draft and test • Available by April 2012
