  2. Transportation • For some of you this may be the first time taking public transportation on your own.

  3. Forms of transportation • What is the most popular form of public transportation?

  4. Maxi Taxi • If you guessed a Maxi Taxi you are correct. • Maxi Taxis are easily available and may take you very close to your school.

  5. Maxi Taxi • Remember you have to reach to school on time so do not wait for a “special” maxi taxi.

  6. Forms of Transport • What are some other ways you can get to school? • 1)Taxis • 2)PTSC Buses • 3) Walking

  7. Taxis • For some students you may need to take a taxi to your school. • It is important to be aware of the car and the people who go in the car with you. • Personal Safety is very important.

  8. Private Cars • Try not to take the cars that begin with ‘P’ on the license plate. Example PBR1111. Look for the ‘H’ cars! • ‘P’ cars do not have permission by the law to work for hire or taxi. • If you must take a ‘P’ car make sure you are familiar with the driver.

  9. PTSC Buses • PTSC Buses are the long buses we see on the road. • Free bus tickets are available for students • Go to your school office for help

  10. Walking • For those who walk to school: • Leave home early • Walk with friends • Take some water with you • Be aware of your environment

  11. Safety Tips • Do you know any safety tips when travelling? • Share them with your classmates.

  12. Safety Tips • Be aware of the people around you when you travel. • Only expose the money to pay, make sure all your money and mobile phones are secure. • Go straight to school on mornings and return home promptly at the end of the school day.

  13. Safety Tips • Be aware of the older children who may bully you when traveling. • Avoid traveling in the same vehicle as them, and if necessary tell an adult.

  14. Safety Tips • As much as possible travel with your friends as it may be safer.
