How is it going to work? • I will call students individually to my desk in a random order. The rest of the class will be engaged on a different activity. • I will have a stack of index cards, each one of them with a conversation topic. • Each students will pick one of the cards without seeing them, and I will start a conversation with him/her based on what the card says. • The conversation should last about 1 to 2 minutes and students will not be allowed to look into their notes. • Verbal midterm will be worth 50 points and will be the last grade of the semester. It cannot be retaken.
Themes • Greetings • Weather • Body parts • Telling time • Likes and dislikes • Sentences using conjugated AR verbs.
You will be expected to… • Respond to the questions being asked to maintain the conversation going. • Use your definite and indefinite articles correctly, considering plural/singular and feminine/masculine. • Express agreement/disagreement. • Use correct word order. • Use complete sentences to answer questions, not just “sí” or “no”.
