  4. Students need to be exposed to Different Kinds of Englishes. • Depending on the student´s level • of competence. • They need more than just the voice • of the teacher.

  5. DIFFERENT KINDS OF LISTENING

Listeningskills • Students need to be able to recognize « paralinguistic clues » such as intonation, to understand mood and meaning through listening. • Students need to listen specific information (time, dates, address, platform n°, etc.). • Students need to have a general understanding.(in a story, interaction in a social conversation).

  8. LISTENING PRINCIPLES

  9. Listeningsuggestions: • jigsaw listening. • Message taking. • Transcription of announcements. • Stories • Poetry. • Music and sound effect • News and radio announcements. • Monologues.

  10. According to Scrivener: • Students need to listen a tape 3 or 4 times. • If a student complete a task in the first time, it was not challenging. It is more important the process than the correct answers of the task. • “Right answers are not the main goal but the listening itself.” • Students need to be challenged and stimulated.
