  9. PROFILE Dr. ShivNadar (born 14 July 1945) is an Indian indutrialist.  He is the founder and chairman of HCL and the ShivNadar Foundation. As of 2012, his personal wealth is US$ 6.2 billion. Nadar founded HCL in the mid-1970s and transformed the IT hardware company into an IT Enterprise over the next three decades by constantly reinventing his company's focus. In 2008, Nadar was awarded PadmaBhushan for his efforts in the IT industry.

  17. Early Life and Education Narayana Murthy was born on 20 August 1946 in Mysore, Karnataka,India. He completed his matriculation from a government school He graduated (Electrical Engineering) from the National Institute of Engineering in 1967 Murthy received hiis master’s degree M.Tech from IIT kanpur in 1969

  22. Entrepreneurial ventures In 1976 after graduation, started bicycle business with friend. In 1979, moved out to Ludhiana to Mumbai In 1982, Sunil Mittal started a full fledged business selling portable generators imported from Japan. But later on the government banned the import of generators as two companies were awarded licenses to manufacture generators locally. In 1990s , Sunil Mittal was making fax machines, cordless phones and other telecom gear. In 1992, Sunil Mittal clinched Delhi cellular license in collaboration with French group Vivendi. In 1995, Sunil Mittal founded Cellular Limited(BCL) to offer cellular under the brand name AIRTEL. Soon, Bharti became the first telecom company to cross the 2- million mobile subscriber mark.
