  2. DOD Continues to Grow the Acquisition Workforce • DOD intends to complete the growth initiative supported by the Defense Acquisition Workforce Development Fund (DAWDF) -- growth of approximately 10,000 civilian workforce members by FY2015. • 5,247 of 9,887 in new capacity DAWDF growth hiring completed as of end of FY11 1st Quarter • The DAWDF-supported hiring and growth is not subject to the DOD budgeted civilian funding constraints for FY11, FY12, and FY13 • DOD is sustaining DAWDF-funded workforce growth in FYDP through Secretary of Defense approved “exceptions” which provide funding in future years • Army, DoN, Air Force, DCMA, DCAA and MDA are fully sustained through FY16; remaining agencies sustained through FY13 – working this with Comptroller • DOD is continuing acquisition in-sourcing on a case-by-case basis • 3,400 of 10,000 growth hires (in-sourcing) completed as of end of FY11 1st Quarter • For inherently governmental acquisition functions, meeting critical needs, and in situations with demonstrated cost savings • Subject to senior level approval -- Guidance forthcoming Source: AT&L HCI
