  3. “Housekeeping” • Snack Everyday • Water Bottles • Label Snow stuff (snow pants, hat, gloves and boots) • Scholastic book orders- checks only. You can order online. • Classroom Parties- 3 parents/party, no siblings • Parent conferences-I will send home sign- up sheet (Nov. 28, Nov. 29 (night), and Dec.4) • Web page- I will have my web page up and running next week. • Birthday Celebrations

  4. Homework • Read 20 minutes every night • Spelling Practice • Math Practice • Friday Writing Log • Sign Planner every night- this is a great way for us to communicate

  5. Lead 21 • New Reading Program • Spelling Lists-the student works on a skill for the week • Social Studies is integrated • Science is integrated

  6. NYS ELA TEST Some Answers to your Questions… • WHO? Every 3rd grade student in New York State • What? The test consists of 3 Sections: Listening, Reading Comprehension, and Reading/Writing • Why? To find out our strengths and weaknesses in ELA

  7. Handwriting • We will be practicing our handwriting until winter break • Starting in January we will be writing everything in cursive • Regents Exam

  8. Everyday Math The district is revamping the Everyday Math program. We are not using the homelink book this year. I will send home math practice, if I think the students need extra practice. *Practicing flash cards is always valuable.

  9. TO WRAP IT UP… IT WILL BE AN EXCITING YEAR AND I LOOK FORWARD TO TEACHING/LEARNING WITH YOUR CHILDREN!
