FERTILIZER CONSUMPTION DURING LAST THREE YEAR ( In lakh M.T. ) NPK Ratio (Balance Use of Fertilizers): Ideal ratio for NPK consumption is 4:2:1. NPK consumption Ratio for the year 2006-07 was 7.72: 3.01: 1.00. & for the year 2010-11, it was 6.89:2.88:1.00 NPK consumption Ratio is decreased in 2010-11 as compared to previous years. So in the state, use of chemical fertilizer constantly heading towards ideal ratio.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO FARMERS • 25,72,848 Kisan Credit Cards distributed up to July 2011 • Credit of Rs. 7424 crore is dispersed till June 2011 by different Banks • The National Agriculture Insurance Scheme is implemented in the State. Claims of Rs. 800 crores have been settled during 2009-10 • Modified National agriculture Insurance Scheme has also been implemented in 4 districts on pilot basis • We have initiated the Farmers’ Accident Insurance Scheme. The coverage of accidental death is of Rs. 1 lakh. Premium of Rs. 2830.49 lakh was paid by Government in last three years

KRISHI MAHOTSAV • Krishi Mahotsav is as an intensive convergence and mass contact strategy was successfully tried in 2005 to 2011 • A month-long pre-monsoon campaign for encouraging scientific farming practices • Focus on doubling the agricultural income of Gujarat within the next five years • Covers all the 18,600 villages of the State • Approximately 1 lakh government personnel from 15 Departments involve • Agricultural scientists participate for the transfer of knowledge from the lab to land • An integrated approach to agriculture, include farming practices, soil and water conservation, and inputs and credit availability
SOIL HEALTH MANAGEMENT • State has fulfil the Swarnim Gujarat 2010 “GOLDEN GOAL” By providing 42.39 lakh SOIL HEALTH CARDS to the farmers of the state • From 2011-12, it is planned to cover 25% land holder of each taluka of state and to make 100% coverage in next four years of all land holder i.e., 46.61 lakhs as per Agri-census-2005.
“Farmers’ Accidental Insurance Scheme” was introduced in the state to provide financial assistance to farmer in case of death or permanent disability due to accident. KHATEDAR KHEDUT VIMA YOJANA Assistance to legal heirs in the scheme: • In case accidental death….. Rs. 1,00,000/- • In case permanent disability…..
