  2. A To hoist a pike pole point up, place a clove hitch near the end of the handle.

  3. B Place two half hitches around the handle between the clove and the point, with the last one being located immediately below the head. JPR 15-16B

  4. C Raise the pole with the head at the highest point. JPR 15-16C
