CO2 Emission reduction methods for Ships • Reduction of excess Fuel consumption by utilisation of waste heat and reduction of losses – INTERTANKO proposal in WGAP 1/2/5 - • Use of MDO as fuel – Saving 31.5 million tonnes • Reducing Sulphur content of fuel – less “buffering” and release of CO2 from the Oceans – potential saving 27 million tonnes • Project to recover CO2 by tankers with zero “footprint” – potential saving 1.5 million tonnes.
