IOSH Competency Framework The last 7 months: • Scoping workshops with business and educational stakeholders. • Scoping 1-2-1s with organisational stakeholders. • Production and review of Skills Map – now version 3. • Stakeholder forums for document review and discussion. • Desk research – verification of stakeholder workshop output • Communication of intent to deliver - marketplace

IOSH Competency Framework The next 6 months: • Final scoping workshop – commercial training providers. • Further scoping 1-2-1s with organisational stakeholders. • All external scoping to be complete by end October 2014. • Report to Professional Standards Committee. (Date) • Commencement of member engagement programme. (Date)
IOSH Competency Framework The next 6 months (continued): • Content building based on the Skills Map. • Stakeholder content review with further development as necessary . • Identification of platform for interactive tool. • Mapping competencies to IOSH knowledge bank and identification of gaps. • Commencement of programme to fill gaps in knowledge bank. • Planning for introduction to the wider market.
IOSH Competency Framework A successful framework? • Large employers accept and commit to using the IOSH framework as a basis for their in-house products • SMEs can use the framework to improve safety and health in their organisation. • Individuals can use the tool to identify their needs and plan their safety and health development. • Members can use the tool to help them with CPD. • The profession is better recognised, better understood and more valued
