High School Competency Diploma Option Number of Graduates • Number of Graduates (HS Diploma Option) • 2010: 178 • 2011: 159 • 2012: 181 • 2013: 201 • Graduation Rate (based on 9th grade KUSD cohort) • Class of 2012 4–year Graduation rate • Without HS Diploma Option: 79.2% • With HS Diploma Option: 84.0% • Class of 2011 5–year Graduation rate • Without HS Diploma Option: 81.9% • With HS Diploma Option: 90.6%

High School Competency Diploma Option Eligibility • 17 to 20 years old • KUSD Resident • Member of KUSD Cohort (4th year) • A new student at 20 is not eligible • Credit Deficient • Beginning 4th year with less than 17 credits • 2014 or prior year Cohort • 2015 Cohort eligible only if 18-20 years old and age appropriate to be in Cohort 2014

Pass/Fails List Holds List • Pass/Fails List • Includes all students still eligible for high school diploma option but did not pass all subtests • Use for September recruiting • Determine what students last tested at your building • Holds List • Check application for completion of remaining HS Competency Diploma Option requirements • Waived subtests are noted on list

Iowa Assessment Testing Windows • September 18 – October 2, 2013 • 3rd Friday is Friday, September 20, 2013 • January 8 – 22, 2014 • 2nd Friday is Friday, January 10, 2014 • April 28 – May 9, 2014 • Longer window due to on-line assessment scheduling and computer access • Cost is now $12 per student

WorkKeys Business Writing Testing Windows • December 9 – December 13, 2013 • March 10 – March 17, 2014 • July 7- July 11, 2014 • KUSD cost is $11.00; increase to $11.50 in 2014. • Also available by appointment at Gateway Technical College. • Gateway provides same-day results but cost is higher (approx. $20).

  12. Iowa Assessment Format • All questions are multiple choice • Each subtest begins with one or more sample question • Allow 5-10 minutes to log all students on system • All 5 minutes to take the Getting Started Tutorial • Explains online procedures • Show keystrokes

Iowa Online Technical Requirements • All student computers must have Secure Browser installed • Responsibility of Building Support Technician • Available at: http://www.riversidepublishing.com/products/datamanager/index.html • Test administrator must have own computer to control test sessions • Perform a test run prior to official test window • Students may complete Getting Started prior September 18

  16. Iowa Online Riverside Data Manager • Log on: www.riversidedatamanager • Enter KUSD email for User Name • Enter your Riverside password • If forgot your password, click Forgot your password? • Riverside will email a temporary password • Check your email mail summary (spam)

Data Manager Manage Students – Batch Entry • Students can be entered by batch or by hand • Information & Accountability can upload student lists but need 1 week prior to testing (Sept. 11) • Submit Excel file with first name, last name, ID • This can be a list of students that may test • Skill Building Class • Only students that test will be charged a fee

  25. Data Manager Test Events and Test Assignments • The Test Event and Test Assignment is created at the District level • All Schools will use the same Test Event and Assignment • The Test Event is named Iowa Fall 2013

  26. Data Manager Create a Test Session • All test administrators must create their own test sessions • A test session should be created for each subtest • Test session should be created in advance • Each test session will have a unique Session Code

  36. Iowa Assessment Calculator Usage • Calculators are allowed in the Mathematics Subtest • Calculators are NOT allowed in the Computation Subtest • Click on the Calculator Icon to use the calculator function or to close it after use

Practice Tests • A limited sample of practice tests were purchased for each building • Form E, Levels 15-17/18 • Actual Test is Level 17/18 • May be used for test preparation • Answers are available in the directions provided • Order form is included if building is interested in purchasing additional copies

  38. Iowa Assessment Reports • Reports will be generated at the District level • Copies will be provided to each school after testing window closes • Report access will be provided to schools in future testing cycles
