The best way to ensure that communication is effective is to PLAN IT
Communication Sub-Group Aim: To develop the communication process and tools that would be used by all sub-groups of the project team as required
to explain to all stakeholders the rationale for the change • to inform of its nature and degree • to stimulate dialogue with a range of stakeholders • to give stakeholders a genuine opportunity to influence the change process
Accurate • Timely • Relevant
Levels of Communication • General – where the objective is to inform rather than engage in a two-way communication process. • Two-way – where objective is to engage in a two way flow with responses to inquiries. • Detailed – where input will be actively sought to stage the new core hospital.
Communication Objectives • To raise general awareness of developments within the core hospital project with all identified stakeholders; • To ensure the views of patients, their relatives, and staff are included in the process of the development of the core hospital service; • To develop a communications timetable so that communications are managed in a proactive and timely fashion; • To continue to develop the identity of Muckamore Abbey Hospital as a centre of excellence in the provision of specialist treatment services for people with a learningdisability;
Target Audiences Internal Staff at Muckamore Abbey Hospital, unions, professional organizations Other Trust staff Hospital management team Trust Board, EMB
