Economy: China's economy has boomed since 1978, as a result of sweeping economic reforms. China is now the second largest economy behind the U.S. with a GDP of 8.9 trillion and is expected to become the largest economy in the next 10 years. China's economy continues to grow rapidly, with a GDP growth rate of 7.8% in 2013. China is the largest exporter and the 2nd largest importer and 3rd largest trading partner with the U.S.

  12. Borders of China Borders of China Chinese Culture Customs & Traditions of China Beijing Opera New Year A dragon dance celebrates the temple in Foshan, China. Beijing Opera is the most widely known Chinese theatrical style with over 200 years of history. Although the art form started in China's Yangtze River Yan’an region, it only became fully developed in Beijing, and that is how it's name came to be. The form employs song and dance with exaggerated movements that leave a strong impression on viewers. National Day Is celebrated every year on October 1.

Some Chinese dances such as dancing with long sleeves have been recorded for a long time. The best known Chinese dances nowadays are the Dragon dance and the Lion Dance. There are also 56 officially recognized ethnic groups in China, and each ethnic minority group in China also has its own folk dances.
