Construction • The Titanic was built in Belfast by a company named Harland and wolf between 1909 and 1912 for the white line shipping company. • The ship length was 269.1 and it was 28 meters.
Facilities onboard • There was also an infirmary an operating room and a Marconi wireless radio station for sending and receiving passengers telegram • The Titanic had the ability to carry 64 life boats ( a total of over 4,000 people) but white star line only agreed to put twenty onboard
Maiden voyage • The Titanic began her maiden voyage from Southampton, bound for New York City on Wednesday 10th April 1912.
The sinking • On the evening of Sunday 14th April 1912, the weather for the Atlantic was unusual because there was a calm, flat sea without wind or swell. • At 11.30 they spotted a iceburg.
Aftermath • After receiving Titanic's distress signals RMS Carpathia arrived at 4:10am to rescue any survivors just under two hours after Titanic had sunk. • 706 people survived and that’s only 31% and 1,517 people died on the Titanic.
