Everybody has “assigned seats” today. Please find your table.
Faculty Meeting, 10/31 • Kelly Erickson on behalf of SSEA • Computer Lab reminders • Sign-up protocol • Courtesy when using or not using • Zones free of food and drink • Honor Council Update: Erin, Charlie & Officers • Grading Groups
Grading Groups Periodically, we will meet in these Grading Groups over the course of the year. The purpose is to provide time to reflect on our grading philosophies and grading systems, discuss what grades mean and how they are reflected in Infinite Campus, and share struggles and successes with grading.
Why start now? End of quarter is a reasonable time to ask that we reflect on what went well (and not so well)! We can fine-tune how we communicate about grades as preparation for parent-teacher conferences next week. The Grading PLC starts in December (You can sign up until November 30!).
Discussion Protocol Each person in your Grading Group will have one minute to respond to the formal question. Please designate a timekeeper who can watch the clock and assure that everyone has a chance to speak in the time allotted. We will repeat this for each of the questions.
What is your grading philosophy and how has it evolved over time?
How have you communicated your grading philosophy and grading system to students and parents?
Please put all of the copies of your grading philosophy/grading systems/whatever paper copies you brought about grading into the envelope on your table. Meghan will gather envelopes at the end.
