Vitamin A Deficiency in Africa • The CSIR is the first institution worldwide to gain permission for the transfer of the "golden rice" technology to maize and sorghum under a sub-sub licence from the developers, Syngenta. • This agreement represents a major breakthrough in terms of the responsible introduction of the technology for the alleviation of vitamin A deficiency in Africa.
