Pentecost • This was already a Jewish festival, called Pentecost because it was 50 days after the beginning of Passover • Pentecost was “Feast of the Giving of the Law” • This celebrated when God gave the Law to Moses on Mount Sinai • Passover happened on the 14th day of the first month • The Israelites arrived to Mount Sinai in the third month (approximately 50 days later)
