  1. English 10 - 11/16/11 • Luke’s ideas about God seem to keep coming up. There are also a lot of religious images and songs in the movie. What do you think the screen writer is trying to portray? • My teacher did bird imitations, she watched me like a hawk! • Pule – to cry like a chicken; to whine or whimper. Goals – Discuss big ideas from the movie and tie it to today’s opener. Homework – List examples of Christian imagery and content have we seen in the movie so far.

  2. English 10 - 11/17/11 • Is Luke a hero to the men on the chain gang? Why or why not? Does he want to be a hero? • What is brown and sticky? • Hesternal – Pertaining to yesterday. Goals – Complete the movie. Try a Venn diagram to figure out similarities and differences. Homework – Write a brief response: What, in your opinion, makes a hero? Would you want to be one? Don’t forget to study Vocabulary # 12 for quiz Friday.

  3. English 10 - 11/18/11 • Five minutes to study for Vocab. #12. • What is purple and runs through the house? • Quadragenarian– a person between forty and fifty years old. Goals – Complete vocab. study for week 12. Think about a poem of the week. Finish Cool Hand Luke. Homework – None!
