11. Grades 6/8 and 7/8 Middle/Junior High • Nokomis Junior High students, grades 6-8 (124 students) are taught in a traditional schedule with 3 core subject teams. The facility houses elective programs in Band, Chorus, and a Vocational rotation in 8th grade. 6 & 7th graders also have an advisory period. • Morrisonville Junior High, grades 7-8 (43 students) are taught by 7 classroom teachers. Electives are offered in Chorus, Band, Art, and Keyboarding.

12. Nokomis #22 Special Education • North Elementary (PK-5) serves 66 students in an Early Childhood program. Programming is also offered for Speech, Social Work (PT), and a School Psychologist (PT) for testing purposes. • Nokomis Junior High provides resource room instruction and inclusion services for 26 students in grades 6-8 with part-time services in Speech, Social Work, and a School Psychologist. • Nokomis High School provides resource room services for 22 students with 2 full time teachers and 2 instructional aides.

13. Morrisonville #1 Special Education Morrisonville Grade School provides inclusive instruction with assistance from special education staff. Services are also provided for Speech and Social Work. Morrisonville Junior and Senior High special services are provided for individual instruction for 23 students. Service are also provided in Math and English Resource Room, Speech services, and Social Work services.

14. Panhandle #2 Special Education Raymond & Farmersville Grade Schools provide instructional support, Resource Room instruction for 15 students, and whole-class instruction by a Social Worker. Lincolnwood Junior & Senior High provides Resource Room support for 48 students. Speech services are offered

Science courses in Physical Science, Biology, Earth & Space Science, Anatomy & Physiology, Chemistry, and Physics. English courses in English 1-4 and Dual Credit English 4. Social Studies courses ranging from Survey of World Regional Geography, U.S. Government, U.S. History, U.S. History (Dual Credit), World History, History 11 & 112, General Psychology, Intro to Sociology, Illinois History & Current Events. Foreign Language is offered in German 1-4.

Family and Consumer Sciences offer courses in Orientation to FACS, Living Environments, Parenting, and Resource Management. Visual Arts courses include: Art 1-4. Music offers courses in Band and Chorus.

HS Programmatic Considerations The High School & Junior High curricula could be enhanced with courses already offered at current high school sites: Students would have the option of two Foreign Languages in Spanish 1-4 & German 1-4. Expand English courses beyond English 1-4 to continue topic-specific courses. Combine and expand the Family & Consumer Sciences program with current courses from Nokomis and Lincolnwood High Schools. Combine Agricultural courses currently offered at all three high schools. Continue Nokomis High Schools Industrial Arts program. Combine Visual Arts courses offered at all three high schools.

23. HS Programmatic Considerations Planning time would be needed to discuss and determine high school graduation requirements. 25. Elementary Considerations Reconfigure Elementary schools to PK-5 Existing special education program and services received by students would be affected by the reorganization. If the districts which reorganized utilize different cooperatives, one would have to be chosen over another. Services may have to be redistributed depending on the need. The existing early childhood programs could continue to meet the needs of children ages’ 3‑5, as they are currently offered  The existing overall PK‑8 organization of grades into PK‑5, and 6-8 among the three districts could be continued in a reorganized district, although how these grades are housed in the various buildings/sites could be subject to change. Grading scale differences and textbook adoption schedules will have to be resolved to offer more cohesion in a newly merged district Localized assessments previously developed by each district will have to evaluated to determine which assessments will be utilized district-wide.

ENROLLMENT • Student projections are made using existing class numbers to develop percentages • These percentages are applied to future classes using the Cohort Survival Method • Live births provided by the Census Bureau are used to project Pre-K and K enrollments • Each school in this study will see decreasing student enrollment over the next five years.

46. TRANSPORTATION This reorganization would result in an increase to the transportation costs ($110,352) based upon the transportation of students to the middle and high school. Additional expenses would be incurred for co-curricular transportation ($39,600). Small potential savings on current costs could be realized by sharing rides for special education and vocation depending upon location of students.

48. BUILDINGS The buildings in all districts meet or will meet the major health, life safety requirements. Technology is current and growing in all districts. Electricity and plumbing currently meet code for all districts. All buildings handicapped accessible with Morrisonville elementary grandfathered in.

49. BUILDINGS Morrisonville All health life safety items will be addressed by the end of Summer 2012 at a cost of $30,000 Restrooms will also be refurbished. A security system in the Junior/Senior High School will be installed during the Summer of 2012 as well. All plumbing and wiring issues have been addressed and no upgrades will be needed for the next five years. H.S. boiler eight years old Geothermal at elementary - installed in the mid 2000’s.

50. BUILDINGS MORRISONVILLE The junior/senior high school has a very attractive entry - AC while the elementary is not. All parts of the high school are handicap accessible; elementary has been grandfathered in for this requirement. Classroom space not an issue in either of the buildings Multipurpose room provides additional physical education space and also serves as the cafeteria for two lunch periods per day. Parking areas are gravel and sufficient for the current needs. Maintenance for the district is ongoing and very well done. Sufficient play areas for both buildings Excellent baseball facility three blocks from the school grounds.
