Developing Recommendations • Goal: To publish Working Group Recommendations in an Interim Report by May 2005. • Proposed work plan: Focus on 3 priorities • Allow as much time as possible to consider public input from all sources (community meetings, web, etc.). • Optimize time for Working Group discussion and review of options. • Provide enough time for staff work to support the Working Group deliberations.

  2. Schedule • November: Identify recommendations topics areas. • December & January: Discuss topics. • February: Initial discussion of recommendations and report text. • March: Second discussion of recommendations and report text. • April: Agree on interim recommendations. • May: Publish interim recommendations and report. • August: Comment period ends. • September: Publish final report and recommendations. Public Input Comment period

  3. Framework for Recommendation Development: November ‘05 • Scope of recommendations: • General goals? • Specific, topic-oriented recommendations? • Degree of integration among recommendations? • Target for recommendations: federal or non-federal • Is anything “off the table” ?
