SCAM would recommend the following methods of fundraising: • Sponsored events • Selling promotional products • Providing services for a fee • Working with partners and agencies • Grant applications • Recycling unwanted goods • Encouraging donations online, • tax-effective giving • “Spare Change” collections etc.
Sponsored Events Example:X Factor Style Event - Judging panel made up of Whirlow Hall Farm Trustees • Companies sponsor an employee by paying £50 • 8 companies per event x 3 events = £1200 • Each company sends 20 people to support • £5 entry fee x 160 x 3 events = £2475 • Donated raffle prizes - £1 per person £160 x 3 = £480 • Charity auction with donated prizes = £1000 x 3 = £3000 Total money raised = £7205
Fundraising Through Sales Example:Selling a Mug in the Souvenir Shop. • We purchase each mug for £2.62 per unit • We sell a minimum annual amount of 72 mugs • We sell each mug for £6.50 Total Annual Revenue = £468 This is added to the Annual Revenue of all other products to produce overall sales profit.
Partnerships and Agencies Example:An illustration of Give As You Earn Schemes The benefits are: • Flexible and easy for employees • Tax efficient as funds are taken from gross pay • Regular donations allow charities to plan for their long term future 100 employees donating £5 per month could generate an annual additional income = £6000 http://www.cafonline.org/default.aspx?page=7035
Our aims are to G.R.O.W. • Generate funds locally and nationally through multiple funding streams • Raise awareness of the project in the wider community • Offer solutions and review performance regularly • Work to a partnership approach Any Questions?
