Federal legislation contains eight essential elements that define a tech prep program.

Alabama’s 22 consortia have articulation agreements Together with area employers, they coordinate tech prep programs
Articulation agreement: • A written commitment between the participants in a Tech Prep consortium to a secondary to postsecondary program designed to remove barriers and provide students with a non-duplicative sequence of courses leading to degree or certificate in the postsecondary education program.
