The FIP has been designed to complement theoretical knowledge and skills taught in the classroom by providing opportunities for students to apply basic CD concepts, principles, approaches, strategies and techniques on real-life situations in rural and urban settings, particularly in the areas of planning, research, education/training and organizing. The FIP has been designed to be the DCD’s vehicle for LEARNING and SERVICE.
Objectives of the FIP 1. Relate theory to practice and evolve theory from practice; 2. Develop a critical awareness from an exposure to existing economic, political and socio-cultural realities; 3. Integrate and identify with the people being served; 4. Acquire/refine appropriate skills and techniques from community development work; and 5. Develop/enhance a commitment to the creation of a just society

BSCD FI Program 18 Units of fieldwork: 9 units for CD 180 9 units for CD 181 Field-based classes are taken concurrently with CD 180 or CD 181.
