It treats acne in women At least 14 years old who doesn’t mind to control pregnancy
M.O.A: • Acne is a skin condition results by an androgenic stimulation of sebum production • Yaz…increases binding globulen{SGBG} and decrease free Testosterone
How can you use it……? 28 –day dosing 1 active tab daily for 24 days Followed by 1 inert tab for 4 days After 28 days Start anew course……..
What about food interaction……? *rate of absorbtion is decreased under fed{high fat meal} *grapefruit increases its bioavalability *yaz has aminor interaction with alcohol
What about drug interactions? Met formin :efficacy of oral hypoglycemic agents and insulen is diminished by yaz Nexium has no drug interactionwith yaz
Yaz side effects : • Major: breast tenderness • Bleeding or spotting b/w menstrual periods • Minor: nausea ,stomach cramps, vomiting
Contraindications………… 1.Pregnant or nursing women 2.History of clot or strock 3.Kidney or liver dz 4.BP 5.Allergy
