Auditor’s Report on 2006 I have audited and found correct the 2006 Financial statements presented to me by Bryon Edwards in April 07. The statements continue to be improved each year and have incorporated all suggestions I have made. In addition I have reviewed the investment in a GIC. A good move to increase interest. Water Levels • Co-operative effort with MVC • MLA volunteers provide weekly rainfall data to MVC • MVC provides water level data to MLA • Graph updated weekly on MLA Website • includes year to date levels, historical average levels and target range • useful to determine whether water level changes may affect docks and boat lifts Mississippi Lakes Association

Water Management Plan • Culmination of 4 year effort resulted in an approved Mississippi River Water Management Plan. • Ministerial approval signed off in Feb 2007 • Plan is now law; Standing Advisory Committee (SAC) to be formed to monitor plan. Water Quality Sampling Program • 2002 - MVC sampled Mississippi Lake (Watershed Watch Program–5 year cycle) • 2006 - Initiated an Annual Sampling Program in partnership with MVC • Followed the Watershed Watch Protocol • 2006 - Lake Partner Program Sampling • Although results are encouraging, MLA would like to expand on the program Mississippi Lakes Association
Quality Sampling 2007 Water • MVC re-sampling with Watershed Watch • Mississippi Lake may be adopted by Canadian Waste Management • May sample 8 times instead of 3 • Re-sample with Lake Partner Program • Increase number of sample locations Mississippi Lakes Association

Water Temperature Logger • Participation in water temperature study in Mississippi Valley Watershed • 10 lakes will be monitored • Water temperatures will be recorded every 2 hours during ice out period • In partnership with MVC & MVFN Mississippi Lakes Association
2007 Loon Survey Charlie White • The MLA is conducting the loon survey for Bird Studies Canada again this year. • Volunteers needed for the different sections of the lake. • Three well-timed visits during critical periods: Nesting (usually early June to mid July); Hatching (early to late July); Chick Survival ( mid to late August). • Main surveys to be done June 16th, July 15th and August 18th. By having everyone do it on the same days should ensure that we get the best count. • If you would like to volunteer please see me after the meeting. • MLA is trying to set up a data base as to where the loon nests are situated on the lake, so anyone with this information please see me after the meeting.
