School and military career A. French military academy at age 14 1. in school for 5 years B. After school he was promoted to 2nd lieutenant. C. Posted on French mainland 1. stationed for 8 years D. French revolution destroyed republic’s officer class. 1. napoleon was promoted to an officer E. 1793 Napoleon was the hero of Toulon 1. arrested for treason
Failures A. Couldn’t help everyone who needed it. B. Forces sent to pacify Spain failed 1. British forces gained toe hold in Portugal. C. Napoleon’s empire showed decline by 1811.

Napoleon’s death A. In 1815 Napoleon was finally defeated in one of histories greatest battle’s, the battle of waterloo. B. It took 6 years from his wound on waterloo’s battle but he finally died at age 51. C. There are many thoughts on how he died but the most popular are poisoning and his wound from the battle from waterloo.
