FY09 Key Achievements • Combined Infrastructure Management Working Group and Energy Efficiency Working Group at request of sponsors (April) • Consolidated five subgroups into three to focus resources (Energy Efficiency, Maintenance, Facilities Management), moved Work Planning to ISM&QA Working Group • Issued a whitepaper on Sustainment Modeling at the request of sponsors of Maintenance Subgroup • Provided support to HS on revision to Order 433.1 • Provided assistance to FEMP on new Executable Plan Guidance • Excluded Buildings Guidance developed and posted on EFCOG website • Acquisition, development and posting of energy guidelines to EFCOG website (renewable energy, water, audits)
FY 10 Key Achievements To Date • Developing an approach and methodology for meeting energy efficiency goals of new Executive Order 13514 with TEAM Working Group • Developed a whitepaper proposal on categorizing facilities with Energy Use Intensity ranges for targets • Developed a whitepaper proposal to consolidate all energy goals into a single set and organize funding for some goals. Submitted through the TEAM Working Group as a collaborative effort • Developing draft whitepaper on space management best practices, standards, and targets (in review)
FY10 Forecast of Activities • Energy Subgroup will perform a quad chart analysis of potential energy savings projects and classify projects from easy/large return to hard/low return to share with members • Energy Subgroup will develop a whitepaper guidance document for sites to use when determining the next best project to execute based on quad chart analysis • Facility Management Subgroup will perform a survey of space management practices to determine how costs are recovered across space, ‘what’ if any standards are in place for office space, and what measures are used to effectively manage space utilization. • EIWG will poll its members for notable practices, lessons learned, and common issues to be addressed. • EIWG will review funding options (such as the use of ESPC, DSM, Line Item, Central Funding etc.) for achieving energy goals and investigate the potential development of a whitepaper discussing these options, pros and cons, and recommendations from the group.
Collaboration with other WGs • Energy Subgroup is integrated with the Environmental Subgroup and both attend the annual Federal Environmental Symposium • Working with the Engineering Practices Working Group to determine future placement of the Fire Protection Subgroup
