When your report has subsections • Left aligned • All caps • Underlined
Quoting someone else's work • Place a short direct quote in quotation marks. • Followed by a textual citation in parenthesis • Include author’s last name and page number when available.
Long quotes are formatted differently. • They will need to be set apart from the rest of the text in it’s own paragraph. • Single spaced • Add a left and right combo indent. • Justify the alignment for a smooth edge.
Alternatives to text wrapping. • Text wrapping is usually ok. • Justified alignment gives a smooth edge but can create issues with spacing between words. • Hyphenation is sometimes required. Hyphenation Justified alignment Text wrapping
