GSMP Governance and System Development Update

This update provides information on the main achievements of the GSMP Architecture Group and the System Development Group since March 2012. It includes completed projects, ongoing initiatives, and progress in areas such as barcode interoperability, GEPIR, eCom message standards, EPCglobal, and GDSN.

EPCglobal • Gen 2 UHF Air Interface v 2.0 • New features assist tag-alteration EAS and consumer electronics • GS1 community review now, will be mirrored in ISO • Bar Code EPC Interoperability • Guideline on GS1 data carrier interoperability published in August • GCP Length Tool Determination pilot underway, tool planned for 2013 • FONS (Federated ONS) v 2.0 • Directory on services for GS1 keys (e.g., for product data, authenticity) • IP review concluded in October • Pedigree • Augment Traceability in Healthcare with security framework and checking • EPCIS v 1.1 • Additional Visibility requirements from Healthcare & Food Services • MSWG working on BRAD, development in 2013
