Literacy for Learning Statewide literacy plan The “Literacy for Learning” framework is a systemic approach that fosters unity and purpose for all schools, complex, and state offices through consistent direction and common expectations. Literacy Defined Literacy is the ability to understand and use language and images to communicate and to think critically in all content and contexts. The literate learner will: *Read *Write *Speak *Listen *Solve Problems *Think Critically *Use technology and media *Use skills in a Global Society *Apply skills in the real world

AVID What is AVID? A structured, college prep program from grades 4 – 12. The purpose of the AVID program is to restructure the teaching methods of an entire school and to open access to the curricula that will ensure four-year college eligibility.

CSSS • Comprehensive Student Support Services Hokulani will look at CSSS process to ensure that all the needs of students are addressed on a timely manner. Monthly meetings are held to go over student concerns and see what interventions are needed.
