Brazilian Facts • Brazil is the largest country in South America and is the fifth largest country in the world. • Brazil is so large that it shares a border with all South American countries except Chile and Equador. • The native language in Brazil is Portuguese. • The people of Brazil are a mixture of Europeans, Africans, Indians, and Asians. • The second longest river is the 4,000 mile long Amazon River which is in Brazil.
Cinco Marias (Five Marias) • Number of Players2, 3, or 4 players • Equipment5 stones. Children in Brazil collect flat smooth stones from the roadside or parks.
How to Play • Throw five stones on the ground. • Pick one of the stones up. • Toss the stone in the air and pick up one of the stones on the ground. Continue until you have all the stones in your hand. • Repeat steps 1 through 4 only this time pick up two stones at one time. Repeat this picking up 3 stones at a time and then 4 stones. • First person with all four stones is the winner.
