Goals • Legitimacy • Ruling monarchies restored throughout Europe • Compensation • Reward those who fought or lost land fighting Napoleon • Austria given Dalmation Coast • Prussia given the Rhineland • Russia given Poland • Balance of Power • Arranging the map so that France (nor any other country) would never be dominant again

  5. Geographic Changes • France reduced to 1790 borders • Russia gets Poland • German Confederation replaces Confederation of the Rhine • Restores Austrian influence in Germany • The Netherlands is re-established
