CIITS School District Highlight Daviess County • Coordinated Systemic rollout planning • Created CIITS as an Instructional Tool document • Core beliefs and implementation expectations are defined • Includes expectations for teachers and students • Offered CIITS Academy (stipends paid from RTTT) • Each school has a Staff Development specialist who is responsible for CIITS training and support • CIITS implementation is incorporated in the Virtual Peer Observation Grant process
Standards Update • Kentucky Core Academic Standards for Science(Next Generation Science Standards) • Science Leadership Networks focusing on: • Interpretation of the Performance Expectations • Importance of the 3 dimensions: Science and Engineering Practices, Disciplinary Core Ideas, and Crosscutting Concepts • Implementing the Science/Engineering Practices effectively • Clarifying the relationship to the Literacy in Science standards and the implications for teaching and learning

Peer Observation Training Module: Now Available • Developed in partnership with KET • Self-paced module prepares teachers to become peer observers • Register to participate through CIITS/EDS
Principal Observations Loaded in CIITS Principal observation caseloads have been manually loaded into CIITS for the first observation window for Observation Window 1 & 2. CIITS Leadership Custom Roles Now Available • Assistant Principals and Central Office personnel are now able to have increased access to tools within EDS. They are to be assigned one of these roles: • CIITS District Leadership and • CIITS School Leadership
PGES Office Hours • When: Tuesdays and Thursdays • 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. ET • Starting: Thursday, September 26 • Facilitators: Effectiveness Coaches & • PGES Consultants • Purpose: opportunities to ask questions and/or participate in a discussion about PGES implementation as well as to hear from educators in other districts.

Assessment & Accountability Update SCAAC Meeting • End-of-Course • There will be no policy change as to the scheduling of EOC assessments • A “Stress Test” for ensuring the technology for EOC assessments functions properly will occur on November 20th. • Regulations • The committee reviewed regulations for Inclusions and the Administration Code. Both of these will be presented to KBE in October.
Assessment Updates • Accountability Release • To schools and districts on September 25th (Embargoed) • Public Release on September 27th • All data will be available in the School Report Card • New to the Card is the beginning Trend Data • Program Reviews • PR results will be available in October • PR results combined with Next Generation Learners available in November
Assessment Updates • Science Assessments • Due to the time needed to develop an assessment, the first Operational Test of the new KCAS Science Standards will not likely occur until Spring 2016 • Transition Attainment Record • Any grade 12 student completing the Alternate K-PREP who did not meet benchmark on the TAR at grade 11 will have the opportunity to complete the TAR again at grade 12.
