Beijing Above: Yellow was considered an Imperial Color in Dynastic China, and was used for all of the rooftops in the Forbidden City Upper Left: Amy and Sarah pause at the Tiananmen Gate, at the southern end of the Forbidden City. The Forbidden City was the home of the imperial emperors of China for over a thousand years. Left: Not far from Beijing is the Great Wall of China, stretching over 4,000 miles across northern China.
Xi’an Gateway to the Silk Road Upper Left: The famed Terracotta Warriors, created by tens of thousands of workers for the First Emperor of China Upper Right: Courtyard of the Great Mosque, the center of life for the many Muslims who live in and near Xi’an We enjoyed a show featuring dance and music from the Tang Dynasty, during which Xi’an was the capital of China Xi’an has a large Muslim quarter with a bustling marketplace The Big Wild Goose Pagoda in the south of the city.
