  1. Temperate Deciduous Forrest By Marshall, Trey, and Justin

  2. 3 plant examples and adaptations Cattail (Typhalatifolia): Cattail is a common plant of wetlands in the temperate rainforests of the Pacific Northwest. Cattail also has a variety of uses. Western Red Cedar (Thujaplicata): Western Red Cedar is a widespread tree in the Pacific Northwest. It has a seemingly endless list of uses. Traditionally, the bark was used for baskets, rope, mats, and clothing. The wood was used for plank long houses, canoes, paddles, and many other types of tools. Stinging Nettle (Urticadioica): Stinging nettle is a common plant in Pacific Northwest rainforests. Commonly known for its uncomfortable sting, it has many practical uses, including edible, medicinal, and utilitarian qualities

  3. 3 animal examples • Black Bear - The black bear is an animal that is well adapted for the temperate deciduous forest biome. It has a heavy coat made of many layers of fur to deal with the winter cold. Black bears have long claws that help them to climb trees. • Eastern Chipmunk-Chipmunks live in forests and edges of forests and are also found around suburban and rural areas. It has a home range of up to 1/2 acre, but will only defend an area about 50 feet around their dens. They like to rest during the day and are only active in the morning and late afternoon. • Coyote- Coyotes can live almost anywhere. They now live in most of North America and Central America, from Alaska to Nova Scotia and Panama. They even live in the suburbs of large cities. People have even blamed them for eating their pets. But the coyote's original habitat was the big open grassland. • Blueplanetbiomes.com

  4. Climate • Annual precipitation over 140 cm (55 in) Mean annual temperature is between 4 and 12 °C (39 and 54 °F). • Wikipedia

  5. Human influences • Deforestation in temperate deciduous forests has obviously had a large impact on the species composition of the zonobiome. However, the adverse effects of deforestation and logging are far graver than would be expected solely based on the amount of land lost to agricultural purposes. • Angelfire.com

  6. Location • Deciduous forests can be found in the eastern half of North America, and the middle of Europe. There are many deciduous forests in Asia. Some of the major areas that they are in are southwest Russia, Japan, and eastern China. South America has two big areas of deciduous forests in southern Chile and Middle East coast of Paraguay. There are deciduous forests located in New Zealand, and southeastern Australia also. • Blueplanetbiomes.org
