  1. An Overview

  2. Overview • Basics • TSA Process • Donor Process • Gift Process • The Devil (he’s in the details you know) • Upcoming training from JCPenney

  3. Program Overview • Started with Dallas • This is the first year to ‘go National’ • A Goal of ‘adopting’ 100,000 Angels nation-wide • Program is hosted by and paid for by JCPenney and their partners. • Includes a “Kettle” opportunity as well.

  4. Program Overview cont. • Salvation Army to supply “Angels” • October is used for Angel Entry • Program live to Customers November 2 • Program ‘ends’ December 9 • Promoting December 14 as the ‘all in’ date.

  5. The Basics • The Salvation Army will provide and enter information on a variety of “Angels” • JCPenny will publish the information and promote the opportunity • Donors will visit www.JCP.com/Angel and enter selection criteria and then choose a donor

  6. The Basics cont. • The donor receives an email with basic information on the Angel—including needs and wants, along with where gifts should be sent • The donor shops (anywhere they choose), and either delivers or ships the gifts to TSA location. • Donor feels good, Angel gets Christmas, Salvation Army meets its mission.

  7. Local TSA Responsibility and Process • Collect and qualify ‘Angel’ recipients • Enter ‘Angel’ Information into the system • Individually • By Batch

  8. Local TSA Responsibility and Process • Collect and qualify ‘Angel’ recipients • Enter ‘Angel’ Information into the system • Monitor Angel Inventory • Collect and Distribute Gifts

  9. The Donor’s Process • The next five slides are screen shots provided by JCPenney. • It is anticipated these very closely resemble the ‘live’ site.

  10. The Donor’s Process cont. • The Donor then receives an email from the system (JCP On-line Angel Tree). • Containing: • Angel Name and unique code • Age/size information • Needs and wishes • Gift Delivery information/instructions

  11. The Donor’s Process cont. • The Donor then receives an email from the system (JCP On-line Angel Tree). • The Donor is free to shop anywhere they wish for the Angel. • JCPenney will provide special incentives to shop at JCP including Free Shipping courtesy of FedEx.

  12. The Donor’s Process cont. • The Donor then receives an email from the system (JCP On-line Angel Tree). • The Donor is free to shop anywhere they wish for the Angel. • The Donor arranges for gift delivery to provided TSA address

  13. The Gift Process • The gift will be shipped to TSA Corps/Area Command physical address as in dispo. • Should arrive marked with unique identifying code • Is processed as any incoming Angel gift in your community

  14. The Details • JCPenney Customer Service Representatives will be trained on the program and it is anticipated they will receive the bulk of the questions • Donors may adopt up to six (6) different Angels. • Angel Families will not be available this year, but is already being considered for next year. • On-line Angels cannot be ‘exchanged’ • This is an on-line program only. That is, Angels cannot be adopted in a JCP store. • Lost Angel information can be ‘recovered’ and resent by calling JCP at: 1-800-544-1305

  15. The Details cont. • There will be a link on the site to make a general on-line donation to TSA. • No exact match? • The system will first tell the donor there is no exact match and then ask them if they want to continue in their zip code or look for criteria matches in a zip code nearest them. • Angel Gift Delivery at JCP stores -- Every effort will be made to discourage this; but it seems enevitable

  16. The Details cont. • Donor Information • In an effort to promote the use of the on-line Angel Tree, JCP and TSA has opted to maintain privacy as much as possible. • The donor’s have to opt-in to receive information from TSA and/or JCP • If a donor opts-in, the email address will be sent to the zipcode where the Angel was adopted (it’s not perfect, but it is all we got).

  17. The Details cont. • System Follow-up Emails: • The JCP On-line Angel Tree System will send periodic emails to adopters throughout the Christmas Season. • These will include reminders on possible tax savings (including encouraging donors to contact their local TSA for a receipt) • Special Offers from JCP • Deadline nearing reminders • Follow-up Thank You including video

  18. Further Details: • As soon as we have them additional information will be posted on the Divisional Website at – www.YourSalvationArmy.org/JCP • JCP training on Angel Entry • Friday, Oct 9 at 10:30 (et) • Done via webinar
