General Classroom Procedure Expectations From When you Enter Class Until you Exit!
Entering the Classroom • If you wish to chat with a fellow classmate, do so before entering the class. • As soon as you enter, go to your assigned seat and begin the warm-up • You will have two separate sheets of your paper to be used for multiple warm-ups. One should always be available to you. • If you finish early, remain quietly in your seat until your classmates complete the warm-up as well.
Materials Needed • We will always do work in this class so you need paper and a pencil each day. • A scientific calculator doesn’t hurt, though there will be a class set available. • Anyone found playing games on the calculator means no more class set for the ENTIRE class. • You’ll need a 3-ring binder, about 1-1/2 to 2 inches. Course Expectations details categories.
No-Nos! • Food and any beverage other than water. • Gum • Cell phones, I don’t even want to know that you own one. • Other electronic devices, ditto to the above. • Talking when I am instructing the class on any matter. • Talking loudly during group work. • Touching any piece of lab equipment without my okay.
Lab No-Nos • Using any piece of equipment as a toy (this includes using meter sticks as swords). • Offender will lose lab privileges for one month and will do bookwork instead. • Engaging in horseplay around the lab equipment. • Not paying attention while lab instructions are being delivered. Talk during the instructions and you will be given a bookwork assignment.
Figure it Out • You are responsible for your ability to participate in class. • Computer access is essential to do well in this course. • Forgot your password – see Mr. Barczyszynin room 313 for the replacement before you need it again in my class. • Can’t log in to computer during computer lab – 0! • If you lose your worksheet or lab sheet, go to the website and print out another one. • If you miss class you better know what you missed before coming back to my class (website).
Website • http://my.ccsd.net/ms_clark • Look for your class. • There is also general concept help under Chemistry and Physics links. • Files that apply to all classes can be found on the home page. • Email – caclark@interact.my.ccsd.net
Homework • You must have the following on any homework: • Name • Period No. • Date • Assignment title, page number, problem numbers • Get a green pen when entering class and use to grade your classmate’s homework. • Return pen when passing up graded papers. • Mark 2 pts off if any part of the header is missing.
Lessons • Always take notes – there could be a notes quiz at the end. • Remain quiet during the lesson unless you have a question about the topic or can contribute positively towards the discussion.
Exiting the Class • Clean the area around your desk, make sure any paper has been picked up from the floor. • Leave your area better than you found it. • Stay seated until the bell rings. • If you are in period 7 or 8, place your chair on top of the table AFTER the bell rings.
Notes Quiz • Write the website address • Write my email address • What information should the homework header contain? • What do you do if you forget your password? • What do you do when you are absent from class? • How do you leave your area when the bell rings?
