Length and schedule of visits • Total length is 2 months at least • each visitor at one host institution • Schedule is flexible • depends on the capacity of the host organization • Stays can be split • but no extra travel expenses are covered! • Visits must be approved • by the coordinator • by the host organization
Research priorities in the first year • Academic partners: • theoretical methods in microseismic monitoring • numerical tests of various MT inversions • error analyses for configurations simulating the real datasets • Industrial partners: • defining suitable datasets • getting permissions from clients • collection of seismic data, basic preprocessing • building the structure models

Research priorities in the second year • Academic partners: • new approaches in MT inversions • tests of robustness of MT inversions • analysis of datasets provided by industrial partners • Industrial partners: • defining new suitable datasets • collection of seismic data, basic preprocessing • building the structure models
Specific tasks in the second year Dobrá Voda dataset • instalation of a small-aperture array at the Dobrá voda area • building a more accurate 3-D structure model • relocation of selected micro-earthquakes • calculating FD Green’s functions for the 3-D model • application of the amplitude MT inversion with including amplitudes of S waves • waveform MT inversions from optimally filtered data Other datasets • tests of applicability of the higher-order MT inversion to mining data • application of the waveform MT inversion to data of Pyhäsalmi ore mine, Findland • case studies of MT inversions in the Ridgeway gold mine, Australia, Driefontein gold mine, S.Africa and Moab Khotsong gold mine, S.Africa IG:filling two postdoc positions
Recommendations of the project research committee Redistribution of visits originally proposed to NORSAR to visits to ESG • NORSAR has a limited capacity for hosting academic visitors: Fischer (IG), Vavryčuk (IG), Bulant (DGCU) • no visits are planned to ESG in the current schedule of visits (decision of the administration staff in Brussels) • ESG has a capacity for hosting visitors and is interested in being more involved in the AIM project
