  1. Cell Microscope Observations Record the Objective, Instructions, and Conclusion Questions on page 66 of your journal

  2. Objectives • investigation to learn more about the idea that all living organisms are composed of cells. • Use the microscope to observe a variety of organisms. As you observe each, make detailed drawings and record the magnification.

  3. Microscope Observation Instructions • Make detailed drawings in your science notebooks once the specimen is in focus. Additionally, each drawing should be labeled with the magnification used and the identification of the specimen. • To write the magnification, look at the number on the lens through which the specimen is shown and write an “X” after it. Ex. If the lens say 10, write 10X next to your picture.

  13. 6A- mammal hair

  14. 6B- Amoeba The cell contents of your amoeba slide is removed so that all you see is the cell membrane.

  15. Conclusion Questions • What similarities did you notice between all the slides? • Were all the cells you observed different shapes? Why or why not? • Which slides had cells with distinctive (very clear) nuclei?
