2006 Census Test Objectives • To develop, test, assess, and improve enumeration methods on American Indian Reservations. • To implement a Tribal Liaison Program on American Indian Reservations. • To develop, implement and assess a consultation process with the Tribe and/or Tribal Leaders. • To implement methods to improve within household coverage on American Indian Reservations.
American Indian and Alaska Native Program conducts 2007 Tribal consultation meetings • The consultation meetings aim to: • Build on the government-to-government relationship in preparation for the census • Gain input from the tribes to help to improve within household coverage • Increase the response rate for the census, and • Obtain information on topics pertinent to the census in Indian Country and Alaska
