What is a Co-Op Students alternate between attending classes full-time for a semester and working full-time on a Co-op assignment for a semester Offers paid, experience-based learning Applies classroom learning to real world work situations Cooperative Education seal on diploma Priority Registration

    4. Requirements to Participate in an Internship or Co-Op Program Registered, fulltime student when applying Completed 24/9 credit hours Must maintain 2.0/3.0 GPA Co-Op must commit to work 3/2 work semesters with the same employer (Co-Op only) HOLDS CREATE PROBLEMS!

    5. International Students MUST have written eligibility authorization form from SPSU International Services Office BEFORE beginning EACH Internship work assignment Not authorized to participate in the Co-op Program

    6. NEXT STEPS CHECKLIST FOR EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION Attend Orientation (done!) Complete intern or co-op application (can do online) Read and sign Applicant Agreement Turn in application to Career and Counseling Center Register in Career Lane Upload Resume into Career Lane Meet with Coordinator (Linda Quick) to discuss your responsibilities and expectations

    7. Securing an Assignment Check your email and Career Lane activity regularly Make sure you are ready for the search! Getting Ready; NO-NO’s Keep your interviews and be on time! Evaluate your offer(s) Negotiate your salary Notify Career and Counseling Center when you accept a position Complete a Co-op or Internship Assignment Form
