  1. OALA Mentoring Program • Aspiring Administrators and Superintendents

OALA Goals • To promote Latino educators into leadership positions • To ensure educational equity for all students especially those of Latino heritage. • To advocate at the federal, state, and local level for equitable educational policies impacting Latino students. • To disseminate data related to the changing demographics and their implications for schools in Oregon. • To develop strategic partnerships with organizations throughout the state that acknowledges and supports the accomplishments of Latino youth. • To provide opportunities to build the capacity in the organization and of its members.

Protege Requirements • Must be a Latino/a educator - Aspiring Administrator or Superintendent • You need to be open to frank and honest conversations about your skills, abilities and attitudes • You must be willing to put in the work for your professional growth and career development • Agree to attend all meetings as prescribed in the program agreement • Honestly evaluate your progress

District/Organization Supports • Protege Fee: • Above 10,000 students = $1,000 Below 10,000 students = $500*Scholarships will be made available to ensure that selected Protege’s are able to participate if there are financial constraints. • Other Supports: Ability to attend all needed cohort meetings. Access to district level meetings for observations
