Overview • Google forces review websites to provide their content for free to benefit Google’s own competing product (not consumers) • Google then gives its own competing product preferential treatment in Google search results • Negative effects are amplified in the mobile market
Google opts instead to scrape and take Yelp content, presented as Google’s own, without attribution or linking.
