  2. Agenda for today’s session • To discuss data elements that will be collected for the Institutional Report Card, required by Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) • To demonstrate the Institutional and Program Report Card (IPRC) reporting system

Title II Reporting Phases • Phase I: Program Completer Data Collection (individual-level data) • Evaluation Systems (ES) opened the website on 10/1/2010 • ES website will remain open until 4/2011 • Phase II: Institutional and Program Report Card (aggregate data) • Westat will open the website in February and will remain open until 4/30/2011

Title II Phase I: 2009-2010 Data Collection and Reporting Schedule • Data Collection Worksheet available on website – 10/1/10 • Deadline for Programs to submit completed Data Collection Worksheet – 1/7/2011 • Preliminary Title II Reports available to programs on website - 1/31/2011 • Deadline for Programs to accept data or submit revised Data Collection Worksheet - 2/23/2011 • Revised Title II Reports available to Programs on website – 3/28/2011 • Deadline for Programs to accept data or submit revised Data Collection Worksheet – 4/7/2011 • Final Title II reports available to programs on website – 4/22/2011

  11. Title II Phase II Institutional Report Card • IHEs will report through the Institutional and Program Report Card (IPRC) reporting system

  12. HEA, Title II Sections 205 through 208 of Title II of the Higher Education Act (PL 110-315) call for accountability for programs that prepare teachers IHE reports Traditional Alternative (IHE-based and non-IHE-based) State reports Secretary’s Report Westat provides technical assistance to states 59 states/territories and their IHEs participate in Title II reporting

  13. Westat’s Timeline • Two interim reports • IHEs – April 2009 and April 2010 • States – October 2009 and October 2010 • Full reporting through new system • IHEs – April 2011 • States – October 2011

Two IHE Reports IHEs will submit two reports Traditional routes Alternative routes States will define alternative routes A teacher preparation program that primarily serves candidates that are the teacher of record in a classroom while participating in the route. Alternative route teacher preparation programs are defined as such by the state.

  15. Non-IHE-based Alternative Routes States also will need to collect information from non-IHE-based alternative route programs
