CS3 is a consortium of organisations in Suffolk & Cambridgeshire We can offer a range of activities, facilities and interventions to deliver local priority outcomes through cultural and physical activity We provide a structured mechanism through a single point of access to numerous, long established, third sector providers

Activities that improve physical, mental and emotional health & well-being: Prevention and early intervention Self-care programmes for long-term conditions Recovery and re-ablement pathways back to independence and well-being Skills and qualification development and improved employability Inspiring, positive pursuits for socially excluded people

Single point of contracting - importantly reducing the ‘transaction costs’ Contract management framework for working with providers Extensive local knowledge and community reach Proven track record of delivery Commitment to working collaboratively, flexibly and innovatively
WHY A CONSORTIUM? - BARRIERS Identified need to support the culture and leisure sector to operate in the new marketplaces Numerous barriers in competing for contracts: Scale and scope of contracts Procurement process Understanding requirements Cashflow
WHY A CONSORTIUM ? – OPPORTUNITIES Scale - future opportunities through strategic commissions Hub – contract management infrastructure Frontline – service development focused on meeting the needs of vulnerable people Capacity - Associate membership, extending the supply chain to micro providers Highly visible presence for the sector
PROGRESS SO FAR Business plan developed Logo, branding and website launched Incorporated as a CLG with charitable status Membership prospectus launched Suffolk member launch event September 2012 15 organisations now in membership Secured funding through the Libraries Development Initiative Bids to ‘Integrated Well-being Approach’ DoH - Innovation Excellence & Strategic Development Fund Big Lottery Fulfilling Lives: A Better Start
