Illegal Trading Is this how you would want to be treated? 200-500 baby orangutansa year, only just 4 years old, experience mental trauma after watching their mothers killed in front of them. 1000 orangutans a year enter the pet trade and experience inhuman conditions and poor diets. Authorities rarely prosecute the illegal traders and when they do, the punishments are mild.
